Fork of freebsd with easier desktop and graphical or text installation. 64-bit only after Ver 9.1 (workaround for 32-bit systems in DWReview for Ver 10.0), ZSF file system by default, backup from 'Life Preserver' tool (some problems Ver 9.2). New mirrors. Reviewer (Ver 9.2) recommends 50GB disk space (actual KDE install took 7GB, so ??). Some popups on initial install re networks, installing new applications, where to find system settings, how to install security updates and how to create backups of our files.
'App cafe' pkg mgr; can show similar apps, can do automatic updates on designated pkgs (problems with updater Ver 9.2). Packages use PBI format, which includes all dependencies for each package, even when dependencies duplicate. Biiig packages, long downloads, but complete. Also can use PKG-NG CLI pkg mgr (binary apps). Has Control Panel like KDE. Can use 'Jails' (Warden). Codecs/proprietaries included, or wizards. KDE, Gnome 3, Mate, Xfce, LXDE, others, Cinnamon. Now may upgrade the distro online from last previous)
Ver 10.0: Virtualbox: Wrong display resolution, PCBSD used 100% of cpu. ran hot. Ran much better on bare metal.
